Shamin Hosseini Nami

Graduate Student

Shamin is originally from Tabriz, Iran, and joined the group in May 2023 as a PhD student. She holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Tabriz, Iran, both of which she earned with distinction. During her Master’s studies, she conducted research on the modification of natural clays with nanoparticles to enhance their adsorption properties. Prior to pursuing her PhD, she gained valuable experience working in R&D and Q.C. roles.

Her current research focuses on the incorporation of porous inorganic nanoparticles into polymers to develop Janus Mixed Matrix Membranes (MMMs) for gas separation. This research aims to achieve efficient separation of carbon dioxide using engineered nanoparticles for membranes with a desirable set of transport properties.
