Elton is originally from Brazil and joined the group in Fall 2019 as a PhD student. He has received his BS degree in petroleum engineering from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro in 2019. He is four times champion of the PetroBowl regional competition. His research goal is to develop a fundamental understanding on the synergistic effects of heterogeneous particles and surfactants on the stability and rheology of fluid-fluid interfaces that can be translated to design rules for tuning the properties of these complex interfacial systems.
